Army Cadet vs. Young Gymnast

We think of our armed forces as the fittest men and women in the world but they can still be surprised by an undiscovered talent! At a fundraiser for the Active Heroes Foundation in North Carolina on September 6, young cadets went up against onlookers in fitness challenges. Kimberly Munley, the US army sergeant who confronted the Fort Hood gunman in November 2009, met a girl who she called her new hero. This little girl was more than a match for one of the cadets at push ups, and she received plenty of cheers for her effort.

According to her mom on FB:

This is my 10 year old daughter Kaylyn. Thank you all for your kind remakes. She trains at Port City Gymnastics and is testing to be on the US Jr. Olympic Nation Team in October. She is truly amazing on the inside and out!

So we went to watch Kelsey dance at the mall to benefit a military group called Stand At Attention. After Kelsey was done an ROTC group wanted to challenge people to go against them in push-ups, sit ups and planks. Little did they know kaylyn was there. I'm only posting the push up video but she spanked 3 high-school boys in all 3. She was also in flip flop for this one. Guess we should have told them she's testing for the Jr Olympic team next month!

Kimberly Munley, the U.S. Army Sergeant who confronted the Fort Hood gunman in November 2009, said that Kaylyn was her new little hero after witnessing her performance.

What the cadet didn't know going in to the contest, was that Kaylyn not only has an extensive gymnastics background, but soon she will be trying out for the U.S. Junior Olympics team!

Since Munley posted the video to her Facebook wall it has been shared over 150,000 times!

Cadets from Hoggard, Ashley and Lejeune High School participated in the Stand At Attention fundraiser on September 6. During the event, a member from each branch stood at attention for over 10 hours with buckets in front of them for donations to their particular branch.
